What is wind power?

Wind energy is an indirect form using solar energy and results from the kinetic energy of wind. This is the effect of differences in temperature and pressure of the atmosphere caused by solar radiation.

The wind begins to use to generate electricity during the last century, but it always applied to small installations and mainly depending on subsistence-oriented. The search for alternatives to conventional energy model is made in the nineties, when the wind energy will be important for its environmental benefits. Since then this type of energy technology has been developed to demonstrate its viability in economic terms and reaffirmed as energy future.

Wind power is currently the fastest growing renewable energy and now represents a large part of electricity production. Our country is one of the largest producers of wind energy worldwide and the study of wind conditions around the country, which is allowing the progressive introduction of wind farms connected to the electricity grid in most regions.
