Hydrogen Generation

The AMT Group we focus on R & D + i for a constant evolution and improvement, in this case we investigate the symbiosis of wind power and hydrogen generation.

One of the major sources of air pollution is electricity generation, since much of this is produced by fossil fuels pollutants, so it is increasingly using renewable energy like wind.

However, despite their advantages, renewable energy also has their drawbacks, such as efficiency and therefore profitability. The generation of electricity through wind resource depends on wind speed, which is not generated electricity for a very low speed of wind or too high.

What brings the hydrogen wind power?

The generation of hydrogen due to the excess electricity from wind farms will, first, use that excess energy and, secondly, to use that hydrogen to electricity when demand requires.

That is, the shortcomings of wind power, such as random and discontinuous nature, is offset by the use of hydrogen during periods of no generation of the park. While the problem of generating hydrogen, the large number of energy consumption is solved with the use of excess electricity produced by wind farms, which would otherwise be lost.

Therefore, the union of hydrogen and wind power gets an energy lacking in emissions, high efficiency and resolve the dependency that exists with fossil fuels.

How do you generate?

The extra power or want to store it leads to an electrolyzer, which with the passage of electricity splits water into its two parts hydrogen and oxygen. After this separation, the hydrogen is compressed for a more convenient storage, as it requires a smaller volume, while the oxygen is released into the atmosphere.

Hydrogen will be stored until the demand does not.

To return to transform hydrogen into electricity, it uses a similar engine to power generation using natural gas but adapted to hydrogen. The engine takes in oxygen from outside and mixes it with hydrogen to produce combustion.

What is the usage of hydrogen?

Although what has been talked about is the use of hydrogen generated back to electricity, hydrogen has many other uses. It can be used directly as fuel, replacing the natural gas to produce heat. Is being incorporated into the automotive and aeronautics. And now one of its most widespread usages is to produce ammonia in combination with nitrogen.

From AMT we look for people and companies wishing to invest in new technology that will revolutionize the concept of wind power for electricity production, plus the fact that the use of hydrogen will increase exponentially over the years.
