Golf Vista Homes Hydrogen Community 2013The Vista Golf Homes commitment to promote energy and environmental technologies, a new chapter begins. Since 2013 the development of Martin Miguel (Sanlúcar de Bda) will be transformed into a community where most of the houses have installed a system to provide electricity and hot / cold-based sustainable energy sources combined with the cell technology and hydrogen fuel. Forecasts indicate that by 2017, Martin Miguel is the second community of European hydrogen and the first in Spain. Hydrogen reaches Martin Miguel
It will be a decentralized system since it will install a fuel cell unit in each apartment. There will also be a network for distribution of hydrogen in each house. The distribution of hydrogen will cover both the domestic need for electricity as the systems cold / heat. It is equivalent to the distribution of natural gas, which is the common energy source in other parts of the country. The power supply will be completely CO2-free Fuel Cell Unit: ![]()
The unit contains 2 kW-fuel cell and an AC inverter.
It is the size of a refrigerator and can replace the existing boiler.
Hydrogen is produced by an electrolyzer controlled by solar energy.
Hydrogen is stored in containers to be distributed to every house through pipes. The hydrogen consumption is calculated for each individual home. The fuel cell is easily installed in homes. The installation is calculated depending on the actual heating requirements and power of each of the houses. The step of converting hydrogen into electricity and heat produced through an electrochemical process.
This process is highly efficient electricity production being approximately 50%. Combined effectiveness of simultaneous use is approximately 90%.
This project is part of our company strategy to introduce hydrogen technologies and fuel cells in Spain.
This project offers the possibility of introducing hydrogen into the market for improving marketing this new technology and the economy.
The three phases would be developed in the Urbanization of Martin Miguel, development located northwest of the town of Sanlucar de Barrameda, in the province of Cádiz (Spain). Our company is selected and identified another location for the development of a sister project, adapted to the peculiarities of the country and the environment.. |

The use of hydrogen technologies will be tested in Michael Martin to be the source of primary energy consumption in domestic dwellings.
